DMS 250 - Sonography Clinical Practice III
5 Credit Hours
This final experience in the clinical setting will give students expanded opportunities to explore and participate in advanced sonographic procedures and interventions. They will continue to improve their ultrasound scanning techniques, knowledge of protocols and protocol modifications based on patient specific health history, relevant test results, and differential diagnoses. Students will achieve clinical competency in all remaining required ultrasound examinations within the areas of abdomen-extended, OB/GYN, and vascular sonography.
Prerequisites: Students must have successfully completed: DMS 100 Introduction to Diagnostic Medical Sonography , DMS 105 Sonography Principles & Instrumentation I , DMS 110 Sonography Principles and Instrumentation II , DMS 113 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab I , DMS 115 Abdominal Sonography , DMS 120 OB/GYN Sonography I , DMS 123 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab II , DMS 128 Vascular Ultrasound I , DMS 135 Sonography Clinical Practice I , DMS 205 OB/GYN Sonography II , DMS 213 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab III , and DMS 215 Sonography Clinical Practice II or have program director approval to enroll.
Corequisites: DMS 223 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab IV and DMS 225 Vascular Ultrasound II unless otherwise approved by the program director.
