DMS 215 - Sonography Clinical Practice II 2 Credit Hours
This second experience in the clinical setting offers students an opportunity to expand and improve their hands-on scanning skills and patient care under the supervision of qualified sonographers. They will implement patient health history, relevant test results, differential diagnoses, and protocol modification into their ultrasound scanning practice. Students will continue to work toward clinical competence in sonographic exams within the areas of abdomen-extended, OB/GYN, and vascular sonography.

Prerequisites: Students must have successfully completed: DMS 100 Introduction to Diagnostic Medical Sonography , DMS 105 Sonography Principles & Instrumentation I , DMS 110 Sonography Principles and Instrumentation II , DMS 113 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab I , DMS 115 Abdominal Sonography , DMS 120 OB/GYN Sonography I , DMS 123 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab II , DMS 128 Vascular Ultrasound I , and DMS 135 Sonography Clinical Practice I , or have program director approval to enroll. Corequisites: DMS 205 OB/GYN Sonography II and DMS 213 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab III unless otherwise approved by the program director.
