DMS 223 - Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab IV 2 Credit Hours
In this final laboratory class students will continue to advance and refine the skills required to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams. Quality assurance and improvement in a sonography lab and the role of the sonographer in vascular procedures will be introduced. Students will be expected to document proficiency in assigned ultrasound exams and show consistent use of ergonomic scanning postures.

Prerequisites: Students must have successfully completed: DMS 100 Introduction to Diagnostic Medical Sonography , DMS 105 Sonography Principles & Instrumentation I , DMS 110 Sonography Principles and Instrumentation II , DMS 113 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab I , DMS 115 Abdominal Sonography , DMS 120 OB/GYN Sonography I , DMS 123 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab II , DMS 128 Vascular Ultrasound I , DMS 135 Sonography Clinical Practice I , DMS 205 OB/GYN Sonography II , DMS 213 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab III , and DMS 215 Sonography Clinical Practice II , or have program director aproval to enroll. Corequisites: DMS 225 Vascular Ultrasound II and DMS 250 Sonography Clinical Practice III unless otherwise approved by the program director.
