DMS 201 - Abdominal Sonography II

2 Credit Hours

This course provides a continuation of the study of abdominal structures. Concepts related to normal and abnormal structures including organs, vasculature, muscles, ligaments, and other structures in the adult abdomen will be presented. Students will expand knowledge in evaluating scanning protocol and become proficient in the scanning techniques. This course has a laboratory component.

Prerequisites: Students must have successfully completed DMS 100 - Intro to Diagnostic Med Sonography, DMS 105 - Sono Principles & Instrument I, DMS 110 - Sono Principles & Instrument II, DMS 115 - Abdominal Sonography I, DMS 120 - OB/GYN Sonography I, DMS 125 - Sonography Clinical Practice I, DMS 130 - Neurosono & Small Parts Ultrasound, and DMS 135 - Sonography Clinical Practrice II, or program director approval to enroll.
Corequisites: DMS 205 - OB/GYN Sonography II and DMS 215 - Sonography Clinical Practice III or program director approval to enroll.
