SURG 208 - Surgical Tech Certification Review

This is a one credit hour theory course designed to provide comprehensive review of surgical technology concepts and practical preparation for the national certification examination, including but not limited to: Preoperative preparation of the surgical patient; Intra-operative procedures; Post-operative procedures; Administrative and personnel; Equipment sterilization and maintenance; Anatomy and physiology; Microbiology; Surgical Pharmacology; Medical terminology; Pathophysiology. Students must be in their final semester of/or have graduated from a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
