BIOL 205 - Prehistoric Life 3 Credit Hours
This course introduces the student to geological time, dating of rocks, the formation andpreservation of fossils, and the importance of fossils in biological systematics. Variousevolutionary mechanisms are explored with emphasis on the fossil record. The course focuses on biodiversity through time and investigates the origins of major groups of organisms in earth history. The course is global in scope, but some emphasis will be placed on North American communities. The course is designedfor biology majors, students of natural history, or science education majors.
Prerequisites: BIOL 111 - General Biology and BIOL 112 - General Biology Lab Repeatable: Y
